This is a semi-detached single-family home located within the residential fabric of the municipality.

This project was carried out at RBM Architecture Studio by architect Raúl Benítez Molina, with the aim of describing the energy characteristics of the building in order to improve its energy efficiency through strategies related to the building envelope and thermal installations.

The certificate examines the energy characteristics of the dwelling, including factors such as the living area, the type of building envelope, thermal installations, and the consumption of non-renewable energy by the dwelling.

Regarding the building envelope, both opaque elements (floors, ceilings, partitions, facades, roofs) and openings and skylights (windows and doors in this case) are analyzed. Thermal transmittance and solar factor are estimated, and together with the surfaces, they allow for generating a report result in a specific climatic zone, in this case, C3.

Furthermore, the thermal installations within the dwelling are studied, including heating generators, cooling generators, and the installation of domestic hot water (DHW) with a standard boiler using natural gas as an energy source. In all cases, the nominal power of these installations is estimated.

In conclusion, for the improvement of the dwelling's energy efficiency, we recommended in this case to install a biomass boiler for heating, which would result in a 69.3% reduction in non-renewable energy consumption compared to the original situation, as well as economic savings for the owner.

This type of certificate allows the homeowner to receive assistance for improving the energy efficiency of their home and reducing their electricity bill.
